About Me
Hayley has over a decade of experience in the assessment and treatment of anxiety and related disorders. She specializes in working with youth, emerging adults, and their families and enjoys helping individuals overcome their fears and move toward their goals and values. Hayley utilizes a variety of evidence-based behavioral and cognitive-behavioral (CBT) interventions tailored to each client's unique needs. In addition to treating OCD and anxiety disorders, Hayley works with individuals experiencing a range of concerns, including mood disorders, body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs; hair pulling and skin picking), demand avoidance and school refusal, sleep difficulties, toileting concerns, hoarding behaviors, tic disorders, and parenting challenges. She has extensive training and experience in ERP, ACT, DBT, SPACE, and Behavioral Parent Training. She is passionate about providing affirming, evidence-based care to individuals from all backgrounds.
While originally from the Central Coast of California, Hayley has spent the last 15 years in the Pacific Northwest. She earned her doctoral degree from Seattle Pacific University and completed her clinical internship at Central Regional Hospital and UNC Chapel Hill. After her brief detour to North Carolina, Hayley returned to the PNW and completed her post-doctoral fellowship in the treatment of pediatric anxiety and OCD at Evidence-Based Treatment Centers of Seattle. She moved to Portland in 2019 and worked for many years at NW Anxiety Institute where she served as the Director of Clinical Training and Programming. In this role, she helped develop a comprehensive training program for graduate and postdoctoral clinicians while overseeing the clinical programming of the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Before founding CBT Portland, Hayley gained more than a decade of experience working with youth and families across levels of care in the treatment of anxiety, OCD, and related disorders.
Beyond her clinical work, Hayley is an active educator, speaker, and clinical mentor. She regularly presents at professional conferences, schools, and community events on topics related to anxiety, OCD, and parenting. She has supervised and trained numerous clinicians at the master's, doctoral, and postdoctoral levels and enjoys helping both professionals and community members develop practical skills and a deeper understanding of effective anxiety treatment.
In her free time, Hayley enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing with her dog Pippin, and working in the yard.
