Evidence Based Treatments

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is an evidence-based treatment that targets the relationship between thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and physiological responses. Treatment is individualized and focuses on identifying and modifying maladaptive cognitive and behavioral patterns that contribute to psychological distress. CBT incorporates structured, skills-based interventions with the goal of reducing symptoms, improving functioning, and promoting long-term resilience. CBT is effective for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression and stress.

Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is the gold-standard treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and all anxiety disorders. ERP involves gradually facing feared thoughts, situations, or sensations while resisting avoidance or neutralizing behaviors that provide short-term relief. Through this process, individuals build confidence, learn that anxiety naturally decreases over time, and regain freedom from fear.

SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions)

SPACE is an evidence-based, parent-delivered treatment that helps parents address anxiety in their children by changing their own responses to anxiety-driven behaviors at home. SPACE focuses on helping parents modify patterns of anxiety accommodation that inadvertently maintain anxiety while increasing supportive responses that foster independence and resilience. SPACE can be highly effective, even when a child is unwilling or unable to participate in therapy.
